The title sounds very cute when said by a 5 and 6 year old in English accent. Rachel taught her boys a few English sayings who then taught them to my boys. Jayden and Evan sound adorable when they ask us if we would like a cup of tea. Rachel and I would enjoy a cup with a treat at least once a week. Our customary tea will now be shared long distance. This picture was taken the day before Rachel was moving to Florida. We spent the day together finishing packing and enjoying time with each other and our families.

We were at Ft. Gibson Lake Sunday to celebrate Father's Day. We always look in the woods for deer when we are out there. We usually manage to see a few, but this time we noticed a deer being fed from a car. This was a first and quite a sight to see. We had Jonah hold some bread in his hand and the deer made his way over to us. We couldn't believe this deer was eating right out of Jonah's hand.

Jonah turned 8 on May 29. He celebrated with friends and family at Bells Amusement Park. We had a great time riding the rides and eating junk. Jonah enjoyed his birthday very much. Thank you all for celebrating with him on his special day.

I am sure that question made Ronnie feel proud. We took the boys to the driving range to hit a few. When we were finished, they wanted to keep going. Yep, they are just like their daddy! It was an insight to what my future holds. The boys out golfing with Daddy, and I am doing some girly things. I guess I could ride around the cart with them. Then again, a pedicure sounds real nice.

Evan graduated from K-4 last night. I was so proud of him as I watched him on stage with his class. He always enjoyed being at school and was very secure even from the first day. I was the one a mess! I know he had caring teachers and made friends that he will miss. He is moving on to kindergarten (full day)at a new school in the fall. Last night was bringing an end to our normal routine this past year. Evan went to school three days a week for three hours per day. I would miss him during those hours, but it did go by very fast. The other two days were spent together hanging out. We had our rituals during the week when we were alone that I will miss. Sure we have the summer (which will fly by), but that brings on other routines that don't involve just the two of us. I know I need to soak up these next few months with both of my boys. I had to get used to Jonah being gone, but I always had Evan with me. When he leaves for school all day, I am really going to miss him.

What a wonderful weekend! We drove to Frisco, TX with the boys and Ronnie's parents. A little getaway to celebrate Mother's Day and my father-in-law's birthday. What instigated the trip was my desire to visit Chuck Swindoll's church. I enjoy listening to his teaching in the morning and wanted to visit in person. We actually got to meet him after the service. He is very personable and friendly. My other favorite part of the trip was the food. I LOVE to eat, even more when it is at a restaurant we don't have here in Tulsa. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory (Heaven on a fork), California Pizza Kitchen (Yum-Yum), and Buca di BEPPO (fantastic family-style Italian). All of these restaurants would succeed here, Tulsans love to eat out. I hope all you Mom's out there had a blessed weekend. I am thankful for mine.

I can't get that song out of my head. I am in the P-A-R-T-Y mood. Rachel's 32 Birthday is tomorrow, and a few of her girlfriends and I are taking her out tonight to celebrate. We will dine at P.F. Changs for some fantastic food and then enjoy spending some time with the birthday girl. This is the start of her birthday weekend, and I pray she will have a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

A third child has been blessed to our good friends Geoff and Lisa Pybas. Zoe Marie was born on April 12. She was 9lb2oz, 21 inches long. Lisa had a c-section and everything went well with the surgery. Zoe was put in the NICU because her blood sugar was low. I have heard that this happens quite a bit with bigger babies and c-sections. Not the NICU, but the low blood sugar. It was a very frustrating time for the family and friends because we all saw no cause for Zoe to be separated from her parents for 4 days. The staff finally agreed to letting Zoe be in the room with Geoff and Lisa, but she had to stay in a heating contraption for her Jaundice. Zoe and parents were released on Saturday and are home for now (they are moving in 11 days). Rachel went and visited Zoe this week and is gracious in letting me post these pictures that she took. Zoe is my goddaughter and I wanted to share her with you.

The other night, my sons wanted a treat after dinner. Not an unusual request, we love our treats around here. I suggested Vanilla Wafer Cookies. I handed them 2 each. Evan was eating his 2 cookies like a sandwich. He took one bite, and said, "These sure would be good with milk to dip in." I was shocked and said, "What?" I have never heard those words in my home, except for Rachel. I am pleased that he has his own taste, I just don't know where that came from. As he was dunking his cookies, he said, "Am I a dunkable, Mommy?" I thought that was pretty cute. Maybe next time, I won't suggest cookies.

I am experiencing major difficulties with my computer. I have had it! I am moving to Amish country for a simpler lifestyle. ( I know they have a very hard life). I was barely able to comment on your blogs. It was taking sooo long to open up each site and the comments page. I am surprised that blogger dashboard opened up for me. I can't sit here all day in front of the computer trying to make a simple comment. I enjoy reading your blogs, they are all so entertaining and thoughtful. I have not had access to the internet for 2 weeks! Our computer has been jacked up and we have been out of commission. Needless to say, as important as blogging is, that was not as important as running our business. I have missed you all, and I hope you haven't given up on me. We were up and running as of yesterday, and I have spent time visiting your blogs and catching up. I have to admit, there hasn't been pressure on me to post, since I absolutely couldn't! When you think we are Shannoning, there just may be a legitimate reason. Have some GRACE! I also have been keeping up with the house better with all this free time on my hands. If I don't post again soon, I just might be dusting!

My youngest son and I have been under the weather for a few days. I have not been able to go to the store, so my husband and older son went for me yesterday. I have to admit, I release major control when I can't make it to the store. My husband has a wandering eye when it comes to all things junk! His eyes are always bigger than his stomach. The boys came home from the store, and I was not allowed to go in the kitchen to help unload. There was a special surprise on the way. After an awesome dinner of big, fat, juicy hamburgers that my husband prepared, it was off to the kitchen again. My boys were very busy trying to silence the mixer! There was a wonderful aroma spreading through the house, but I still didn't know what was being prepared. When they were finished, I was instructed to close my eyes, and the above picture is what was presented to me. My husband went through the trouble of preparing three different sizes of cupcakes and putting X's and O's for icing.

This was a special message of love that was given to me from my wonderful husband, and beautiful son. I receive these types of gifts with a huge smile and a happy tummy. I wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day. May all your sweeties talk your language of love.

Back to Reality?

This is a great t.v. week for me. I am not usually a slave to the box, but I love The Apprentice and American Idol.
They both premiere this week, which means I will have to be glazed over three nights in a row! Next week, it will be four nights of mindless activity that will keep me from my friends and family. J/K, my friends and family will be blank stares right along with me! Maybe my reality is to Get A Life!

Exercise that is! I have finally committed once again and joined a gym. I used to work out for about 2 years and became bored. It has been 9 months since I have been to the gym. My best friend, Rachel, is looking great, she just wants to firm up a bit. She has inspired me to join with her and work out together. Our first day was yesterday, and we made sure to keep it light. We went again this morning, and it is a great way to start the day. We all need encouragement in this area, so I am curious, has anyone else started on this venture of staying fit? I am completely open to hearing any tips or routines that have helped you stay motivated.

To dunk or not....

I am not a dunker. My best friend, Rachel, however, is the queen of dunking. Yesterday, Rachel brought over some cookies from England. YUM! We had our afternoon cup of proper English tea that we thoroughly enjoy. Rachel insisted that the best way to eat these cookies was to dunk them in the tea. I thought they were delicious on their own. I happen to think all good cookies, donuts, biscotti, are enjoyable on their own. I am curious to know if I am alone on the dunking matter. However you like to enjoy your treats, try to indulge a little everyday!

Sure would like to be on that beach right now. Evan had a great time

Gateway Arch

On our drive to and from Indiana this past week, we traveled through St. Louis,Missouri. We have never been there before and took the opportunity to visit the Gateway Arch. We took the tram to the top, 670 feet up. Very awesome. You can see the whole city. We took a picture of the stadium, and that same night the Rams were playing on Monday night football. I don't know who won, but I thought it was cool that we just saw the view from that high up! Great experience.

It is 70 degrees outside, absolutely gorgeous. The kind of day you want to take it all in. I love this kind of weather. I grew up in Florida, so I am used to a relatively warm Christmas. Now that I live in Oklahoma, I have to get used to the cold weather, ice, and sometimes a good snow. The news this morning stated we will get snow on Wednesday. I know most people get very excited and look forward to that type of weather report. I don't like the drastic change. I have that feeling of having to get it all done today, because we may have problems driving around later this week. Our city does what it can to clear roads, but it's not like living up north where they have a lot of bad weather. I will be happy for my boys, and you, too Rachel (HAAHAA). I will go enjoy the rest of my beautiful day and think about flying south for the winter.

Mo turned the big 5-0!

Hey everyone, I'm back! Sorry, it has been sooooo long. My best friend, Rachel, is training me right now so I can finally get a message out. My mom, also known as MO, or Queenie turned 50 on November 25. My mom and dad arrived from Florida to spend Thanksgiving with us. I had a surprise party for my mom with the help of Rachel and Lisa. My mom was very surprised and blessed. We had a wonderful time and I thank all of my friends and family for being a part of a monumental day.

The first cut is the deepest...Literally

So, we started this whole blog thing and then left all 2 of you who read it hanging. Well, last Wednesday we kind of had a mini emergency. First a little history. Ronnie has been working like 100 hours a week at the new Fuddruckers on Peoria b/c he is in charge of getting all the decor up before it opens. It's like a 3 day job. Anyway, he was needing to cut something, it was gonna take like 3 cuts and on the first cut, cut off the tip of his middle finger left hand. Down to the bone. We will hopefully have pics at a later date. Well, while one of the managers ran him to the hospital Brian tried to find the missing piece. To no avail. So, he gets to the ER and they take him back and he goes into shock, not good. Once they got some morphine pumped into him he came around. The manager that had brought him was a little wigged to say the least. So, the Dr. comes in and is like "we have to look at your finger sir" and Ronnie's like "uh, no you don't want to look at my finger, b/c blood will start squirting out everywhere and I'll pass out." They kinda go back and forth for a sec and then the Dr.'s like "ok sorry but I have to" and takes the pressure off his finger to look and sure enough, blood goes everywhere and like he predicted Ronnie passed out. Poor guy, he has a very weak stomach. So, to cut (hee hee no pun intended) to the chase, Brian found the tip and brought it to the hospital but it was too late. They took x-rays and determined no surgery was needed, Praise God for that. They did grind down the bone a bit, dressed it and sent him home with lots of pain meds and antibiotics and said we'll see you in a week. I took him home got him drugged up and he went to bed. The next day, he was back at work and it was business as usual. I was mad b/c they told us you can't get it wet or dirty b/c of infection and he's out there working. I tend to be a little over bearing when it comes to germs and infection and you know, my husband getting gangrene. EWWWW! Which I might add is a huge possibility if he doesn't keep it clean.

Well, here we are almost a week later and so far so good, he worked all weekend and appears to be fine. He had a rough time when they had to re-dress it this morning but once again, right back to work when they were finished. So, there you have it. But, we are now back in the saddle again so please come and visit b/c we will have lots more stuff to talk about.

Tired of scrubbing carpet stains?

A woman called me about removing her carpet because her new kitten kept
making a mess on the it. (If you know what I mean)
So she asked me to lay new 18" tile on a 45deg. w/ a 6" x 18" tile border.
Since she was on the second floor I had to install backer board first.
The floor turned out great and she was very happy to wipe up her kitty's mess,
rather than scrubbing it out.
